"Reported" means the number comes from trade-press coverage we have not re-verified at a primary source — 2 of the 7 rows, both in the earliest period where a direct source no longer exists to check.
What actually drove it down
Three things, in order of how much they mattered:
- The manufacturer cut out the middle. Launching its own pharmacy in March 2025 at $499 was the single largest move on this page — roughly a two-thirds discount to the list price, achieved by removing the distribution layers rather than by discounting.
- Competition from compounding. The direct pharmacy did not appear in a vacuum. Compounded semaglutide was selling for a fraction of the branded price, and the branded product had to become buyable rather than merely available.
- Political pressure, eleven days early. The most-favoured-nation agreement landed on 6 November 2025; the price cut followed on 17 November. The sequencing is worth noting either way you read it.

What this history suggests about what comes next
Two observations rather than predictions. Every cut on this page followed a competitive or political event rather than arriving on a schedule, so watching those events is more useful than watching the price. And the introductory rate has now been extended once already, which tells you the manufacturer is treating acquisition pricing as a lever it expects to keep pulling.
