The 1.6-star problem

The manufacturer's own pharmacy is one of the cheapest legitimate routes to branded medication, and it carries by some distance the lowest rating of any channel we track. Both of those are true, and the second one needs reading rather than repeating.

1.6/5 from 94 reviews — 82% of them one-star, 11% five-star, and almost nothing in between. That barbell shape is itself informative: this is not a service people find mediocre, it is one that either works or fails badly.

What the complaints are actually about

We read the profile and sorted the recurring themes. The important finding is that they are overwhelmingly about fulfilment and service rather than the medication itself — with one exception that is not.

ThemeWhat reviewers describeHow much it should weigh
Prescription processing and delays Missed refills, prescriptions not received by the pharmacy despite the prescriber's office confirming they were sent, and long processing times. high — this is the step that breaks continuity of supply
Customer service Difficulty reaching a live agent, long hold times, repeated identity verification, and calls reportedly disconnected. moderate — costly in time, not in outcome
Shipping and temperature control Medication arriving with melted ice packs and warm vials. high — cold chain matters for an injectable, and this is the one complaint theme that is about the product rather than the service
Orders and billing Incorrect doses shipped, difficulty cancelling quickly, and confusion over refunds and payment methods. moderate

In reviewers' own words

"I was on the phone for 57 minutes and had to provide my name and date of birth 6 times. I was ultimately told that the problem could not be fixed."
"Missed refills, AI customer service agents who make it difficult to get to a live person, and then the live agents who can't seem to correct issues or help in any way."
"My last shipment was very delayed and arrived with melted ice packs and warm vials."

Why the number is smaller than it looks

The profile is unclaimed. The profile is UNCLAIMED, which matters to how the score should be read. A claimed profile can send review invitations to all customers; an unclaimed one collects only people motivated enough to seek it out, which skews heavily toward complaints. That does not make any individual complaint untrue — it means 1.6 from 94 unsolicited reviews is a different statistical object from 1.6 from 15,000 solicited ones, and neither tells you the rate at which orders go wrong.

Compare it with the channels around it. Several of the highest-scoring providers we track pay for review invitation tools, which surfaces the satisfied majority who would never think to post. An unclaimed profile surfaces only the motivated minority. Both numbers are real; they are measuring different things.

What we would actually take from it

  • Prescription processing and delays is worth planning around. Missed refills, prescriptions not received by the pharmacy despite the prescriber's office confirming they were sent, and long processing times.
  • Shipping and temperature control is worth planning around. Medication arriving with melted ice packs and warm vials.
  • The cold-chain complaint is the one that is not merely inconvenient. These are refrigerated injectables, and a shipment arriving warm is a question for the dispensing pharmacy before it is a question about your rating — do not simply use it and hope.
  • Order earlier than you think you need to. Nearly every service complaint here compounds if you are already low on medication.
  • None of this is an argument for paying a membership instead. The price difference is real and large — see the index. It is an argument for building slack into your refill timing.

One scope note: this profile covers the LillyDirect platform, so it applies to LillyDirect — Foundayo as well, and is not specific to either product.

Reporting on public customer reviews, not medical advice and not a finding about any individual order. Customer statements are reproduced as evidence of a complaint pattern; we have not verified individual accounts. If medication arrives outside its temperature range, that is a question for the dispensing pharmacy and your prescriber, not for a comparison site. Some links may earn commissions; ordering is by cost, never compensation — disclosure.
