The 1988 double-blind vehicle-controlled JAMA trial established tretinoin's effect on photoaged skin, and the evidence has compounded since. Most premium 'custom anti-aging formulas' are built around this generic molecule.

Side effects, stated plainly#
Irritation, dryness, peeling, and sun sensitivity are expected early and usually settle. Retinoids are avoided in pregnancy.
What it costs#
Generic tretinoin with a prescription costs a fraction of custom-formula subscriptions — and the subscriptions' real trick is billing cadence, with 'monthly' prices that bill every two months or ship every 56 days.
Coupon or manufacturer program?#
A US generic exists, which is exactly the situation discount cards are good at. Prices move daily by pharmacy and postcode, and the spread between the cheapest and dearest pharmacy in one town is routinely several times the drug's actual cost.
