When purchasing any weight loss product, it is important to do your research. Many people are exchanging their opinions about Jenny Craig on DietBlogTalk.com

Overview
There probably isn’t a person in America that hasn’t seen a Jenny Craig™ commercial. The commercials often have dieters that have lost a tremendous amount of weight and they look like normal people, not models. The Jenny Craig™ system is built around three things—mind, body, and food. In some ways the Jenny Craig System teaches the dieter how to eat. In other words, one learns about healthy eating habits; they learn about portions, food choices, and how to make good decisions about food. When it comes to the body, the dieter learns about the importance of exercise. The Jenny Craig™ program doesn’t claim to be a miracle diet, but it uses proven methods like exercise. Finally, the diet helps one transition into a new healthy lifestyle. This ensures the success of the diet for a lifetime for many participants. there are some who do fine while on the program with its prepared meals, but then gain their weight back once on their own.
Ingredients at a Glance
Jenny Craig™ has more than just ingredients, as the program has exercise plans, coaching, and a variety of foods. Each menu is personalized and includes many popular foods. The exercise the program recommends is suitable for anyone. One can even tailor the program according to one’s abilities.
Ingredients in Focus
The exercises in the Jenny Craig™ program range from everyday activities to rigorous systematic approaches. In fact, simple things such as cleaning the house or walking on the beach can be considered “activity” in this program and is highly recommended. The Jenny Craig™ coach teaches the dieter how to blend the diet in with everyday life. Dieting can be viewed as a chore, but not if it becomes part of everyday life. The food menu on the Jenny Craig diet is diverse. There menu includes foods such as cheesecake, macaroni and cheese, pizza, and pasta. The goal of the Jenny Craig™ food menu is to eat healthy while eating delicious foods.
Positives
• The Jenny Craig™ diet has been on the market for years and has produced slow but steady results.
• Jenny Craig™ tries to make dieting part of everyday life instead of a burden.
Negatives
• The program can be somewhat pricy especially when purchasing their food.
• Jenny Craig™ won’t produce incredible results overnight.
• Jenny Craig™ requires a significant amount of time.
Final Thoughts
Jenny Craig™ is one of the most enduring diets on the market. The plan is built around changing the way one thinks about food, exercise, and dieting. The diet uses techniques that work such as healthy dieting and exercise. The program doesn’t claim to be a miracle diet and most likely won’t help one lose 50 lbs. in one week. Rather, this program produces slow but steady results. In other words, this is a long term diet program, not a quick fix. The menu appears to be diverse and will probably allow one to eat the same foods to which they’re accustomed. The period after the dieter is finished with the program is the telling point – did they learn enough to go it on their own with their own food preparation?
Remember that there are weight loss supplements that are of help as well. Along with diet and exercise, these can be a great support. Look for a product with just one proven fat-burner and an ingredient to help control appetite and cravings.

Jenny Craig Diet

kalidas asked:
The Jenny Craig diet was begun by Genevieve Guidroz, an American weight-loss guru. The Jenny Craig company began in Australia, began offering its diet program in America in 1985, and was purchased by Nestlé in 2006. Today the company has over 550 weight-loss centers in the United States and other countries. Read on for more information.
The Jenny Craig diet is billed as the biggest weight management system in the world. It has a simple formula for weight loss — good nutrition and basic activities It’s a well-known formula for weight loss and healthy living used throughout the fitness world. The Jenny Craig diet doesn’t only seek to help people lose weight, it seeks to establish a long term lifestyle for healthy living. In this sense it’s much more than a fad diet.
The Jenny Craig diet has had a number of celebrity spokespeople. One of the most famous was Kristie Alley, former star of Cheers, who also appeared in some Star Trek movies. People were amazed at how fat Kristie had become when she first appeared as the spokesperson in 2005. She weighed in at 200 pounds and had been featured in a documentary called Fat Actress. In November of 2006 Kristie claimed the Jenny Craig diet had helped her lose 75 pounds, but she didn’t appear any slimmer.
There is also personal counseling as part of the Jenny Craig diet. Jenny Craig trains the counselors who have no outside certifications as nutritionists or health professionals. The Jenny Craig diet works in the following manner. People join and then choose a plan based on prepackaged food. The selection is large – over 75 frozen and dry foods to which people add things like store bought vegetables and dairy. When people have been in the program for some time they begin creating their own meal plans. Eventually the Jenny Craig foods are cut back to less than half the meals.
WebMD ran a study on the Jenny Craig diet. The conclusion was that the provided food is of high quality, and that the diet can help people lose weight fairly quickly. So give the Jenny Craig diet a try.

Is Jenny Craig Good Or Bad For You?
Posted on 05. Apr, 2009 by admin.
Janet Sommers asked:
Is Jenny Craig good or bad for you? This is a question that everyone wants answered before starting the Jenny Craig program. Well, Who can blame people for being too cautious for a program that needs an entrance fee to, well, what else but enter. And then you also need to fork out at least $100 for food for only a week. So yeah, I guess people do have the correct motivation to be skeptical before entering Jenny Craig.
Is Jenny Craig good or bad for you? The Good
Based on personal experience and some of my friends’ experiences, the good thing about the program is that it helps you in realizing what type of a person you are and what your real body measurements are. Then the personal counselor will give you the proper tips (at least our counselor was knowledgeable, I have heard horror stories where in the counselor was like reading off a book and knew practically zip about nutrition or health) to help you in your weight loss journey. Then she can guide you through the plan weekly either by her weekly weigh ins and face to face consultations or if you live too far from the center, you guys can have the pep talk over the phone.
The only good thing about this plan is that you need not think about adding calories up when you eat or you need not have to read through the labels of every food item you are about to put in your mouth because everything is prepackaged and served up to you in freeze dried boxes.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry to disappoint but this is the only good that the Jenny Craig system has.
Is Jenny Craig good or bad for you? The Bad
As mentioned, everything is prepackaged in frozen boxes for your meals. Think TV dinners, only smaller and they make TV dinners seem like gourmet meals. It is not that they taste like those diet shakes. They are slightly better than that in the sense that you will be eating “real” foods like potato soup or sandwiches. However, they taste like they have been washed several times then dried and frozen to be packaged.
Is Jenny Craig good or bad for you? The Worst
The price of the entire Jenny Craig system is what gets me. I entered the program for only $20 but then I had forked over $400 for a month’s worth of food supplies. Then, my “health coach” kept on insisting that I sign up for the Gold or Platinum membership which cost about $200 and $300 respectively.
Is Jenny Craig good or bad for you? The Verdict
All in all, it was not a very good experience for me. After losing about $420 (not to mention all the fruits and cottage cheeses I had to eat as snacks which also shaved some dollars off my savings), I only lost 6 pounds and I felt like a lethargic person all the time. I ended up slightly broke, ostracized from family dinners and weak after a month in Jenny Craig. If I only knew about Fat Loss 4 Idiots back then, a program that ACTUALLY make you lose “11 pounds in 9 days,” I wouldn’t have been in that position ever.

The Jenny Craig Diet: Helping You Lose Weight Since 1983
Posted on 05. Apr, 2009 by admin.
Jennifer McVey asked:
In 1983, the Jenny Craig Company was formed in Australia by both Sid and Jenny Craig. Today the headquarters are located in California. In just a little more than 10 years, this hard driving couple were able to build a company that generated over 36 million dollars a year in business. It was obvious that small town, Louisiana native Genevieve (Jenny) Guidroz had become a star in the dieting industry.
By 1998, there was a substantial drop in the earnings to 2 million dollars a year but the company managed to transform itself to fit the changing times. With a revamped and updated approach, earnings began to rise. This company has always shown the ability to find ways to gain favor with the public. Much of this success is directly attributable to the positive and tenacious attitude of Jenny Craig.
Genevieve, or Jenny as she is better known, developed an early interest in fitness during the 60’s when she was trying to lose weight that she had gained while pregnant. She opened her own fitness club in New Orleans during this time and she operated it until 1970.
Then she became a staff member at Body Contours, which was another fitness center in the area. Body Contours was a fitness center that was owned and operated by Sid Craig. The couple found that they had much in common, fell in love and were married in 1979. By working together, they were able to develop a unique concept that would turn their struggling fitness operation into a multimillion-dollar business.
The diet program that was developed by Jenny Craig Inc. is not meant to be viewed as a diet but as a practical approach to help clients develop healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle. During the company’s early years, their clients would meet with a personal diet counselor and would purchase their food from Jenny Craig Inc. These food selections were perfectly proportioned and calorie controlled. Clients could choose meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There were also desserts and snacks that were offered on this plan. Diet participants would also be required to attend support meetings twice a week and discuss weight loss topics with a group that was led by a counselor. Today, pre-packaged meals are still the central theme of the program and now they can even be delivered to customers’ doors through the Jenny Direct program.
Jenny Craig Inc. did not go public until 1991. During this period, some changes were made in their upper management ranks. The program was changed and modernized. Clients were able to now choose the classes that they felt were of most interest to them. The company also started a video series that could be purchased for home use which instructed individuals about healthy diet choices and how to integrate better eating habits into their daily lives.
Celebrities that have had success with this program would very often become paid spokespersons. Among these were stars like Elliott Gould and Susan Ruttan. The most recent Hollywood stars to endorse Jenny Craig’s program have been Kirstie Alley, Marie Osmond, and Valerie Bertinelli.

Jenny Craig at a Glance

Gaetane Ross asked:
Developed over 30 years ago, the Jenny Craig program is best known through its recent commercial ads with Kirstie Alley and, more recently, Valerie Bertinelli. The Jenny Craig program is for anyone who wants to lose weight but doesn’t want to count calories or use a point system.
This diet is a controlled diet that is easy to follow. With different levels of membership, meal programs, consultants, one on one support from other members and centres in many areas of the United States you are never all alone with the Jenny Craig diet plan.
The program offers prepackaged meals sent to your home and is based on portion control. In addition to regular meals, the Jenny Craig team also provides snacks and desserts, fruits, vegetables, and offers suggestions on what type of low-fat dairy products to buy at your supermarket.
A unique feature in the Jenny Craig program is that once you arrive at the halfway mark of your desired weight, you can start eating normal foods. This is different from other diet plans in that you have to wait for the maintenance portion of the plan before you can eat regular foods. As long as you maintain the portion size, the Jenny Craig program is one that is becoming more popular today than in the past.
Another key element in succeeding on this plan is exercise. Jenny Craig’s recommendation is a five-day exercise routine for 30 minutes a day. While this may take getting used to, the sooner an exercise plan is designed, the sooner you will yield results.
In addition to the plan itself, there are personal consultants available to help you achieve your goal, answer any questions you may have, and be as supportive as possible while you are in this program. Moreover, you can also take advantage of their weekly consultations, which is not only a great motivator, but tracks your progress as well.
If you are interested in a plan that prepares meals without you having to worry if the portion is correct, try Jenny Craig and see if the results are just as measurable as those touted by those two celebrities mentioned earlier.
There are two ways to look at the Jenny Craig Program. The best scenario is that you will lose weight and inches; while the worst-case scenario is that you run out of room in your refrigerator to store all of the wonderful meals they supply.

Does Jenny Craig Work Well?
Posted on 05. Apr, 2009 by admin.
Janet Sommers asked:
Without breaking a sweat, without feeling guilty I can answer this question with a simple no. However, it may be a good idea for me to clarify that in my own experience, I can honestly say that the question “does Jenny Craig work well” merits a huge no as an answer.
Does Jenny Craig work well? The How’s
So how so I know that it does not work well at all? Well, I am one of the many people who have tried and failed at this program. I followed the plan strictly and religiously. I bought everything that my weight counselor told me to buy even if in the deepest corners of my heart I knew she probably knows zip about fitness and health (which we will talk about later). But I still ended up losing half the weight promised and it left me with a red credit card bill nagging me to pay up.
I also know it does not work because on top of that experience, I just became acquainted with someone who used to be a Jenny Craig employee. I wish I had known my Jenny Craig friend before I signed up, but she came to my life 4 months later. And she told me all the horror stories she had as a “personal fitness coach.”
Does Jenny Craig work well?
So what happened in the 5 months I was under the plan? Well, aside from bleeding my wallet dry, I had to follow this diet plan and eat only the prepackaged foods and some fruits. Some items were palatable, like the sandwich (at $6 a pop, they should be) and the muffin. But most of them, like the beef and potato that was all potato and the soups that seemed watered down to me were a hell to eat.
Then I had to eat these meals that came in servings fit only for an ant queen as the serving sizes were so small, after an hour of walking around (I am a supermarket store manager so I walk around lots in a day), I end up craving for food and calories.
Then when I turn to my “personal fitness coach,” she would only end up pitching me to buy more Jenny Craig food items! And later, I found out through my friend who was a former Jenny Craig employee that they did undergo this training abut health and fitness and about motivating the customers to lose weight, but they end up forgetting about it because they are really more geared to selling their items. And to further “motivate” them to sell, they get fired if they do not meet the quota. Truly a terrible “motivation” for someone who is geared to “motivate” us to lose weight and be healthy.
Does Jenny Craig work well? Let’s find out…
If someone answers the question “does Jenny Craig wok well?” with a yes, I would say good for you and enjoy spending $100 a week for the rest of your life and eating rabbit servings forever. Because the only plan that worked for me is the Fat Loss 4 Idiots plan and it made me lose a whopping “11 pounds in 9 days.”

Losing Weight The Jenny Craig Way
Posted on 05. Apr, 2009 by admin.
Clive Jenkins asked:
One of the most thriving weight loss plans around is the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program. It may not sound so familiar but it has actually been around since 1985. Just like any other weight loss program, Jenny Craig is founded on discipline. It only follows a discipline of choosing proper diet complemented by regular exercise and living the healthy way. Jenny Craig program is said to be very safe and reliable since a group of dieticians and health counselors supervises it.
With Jenny Craig program, you are provided with individual pre-packed foods, which are also known as “Jenny Cuisine”. These pre-packed foods are intended to teach people who want to lose weight to practice portion control in their diet. It also intends to teach dieters how to choose foods with proper nutrients especially needed by the body, so, the dieters will get used to eating nourishing food. Jenny Cuisine also provides snacks and desserts that complement your diet plan. You can add to this diet fruits and vegetables and other foods you might want to include that can be bought in the market for as long as it meets the constraint of the Jenny Craig diet plan.
The purpose of the pre-packed meals is to serve as a pattern to healthy ingestion. During the process, the dieters will also be guided by health counselors in recognizing right portioning of food groups in each meal and at the same; they will also learn to cook their own food at home. Part of the Jenny Craig program is to discipline oneself to practice proper portion sizing even when eating out.
Basically, Jenny Craig program do not disallow any food from a person’s diet. You can eat French fries or even cake. The keyword is “moderation”. Learning the proper portioning is what the diet plan is about. The program also encourages the observance of balanced diet and regular exercise into a person’s everyday life. Therefore, everything is all about discipline to achieve the weight one desires, which is very attainable without having to avoid one”s favorite food. Discouraging certain foods is not part of the program. Instead, the Jenny Craig program informs and educates the dieters what to eat in moderation and what to eat liberally. There is no need to deny what your taste buds are craving for.
The program does not focus on a person’s nutritional regime alone. Jenny Craig promotes regular exercise. It encourages its clients to involve themselves in any physical activity at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. The program emphasizes the importance of being physically active as part of the entire process. No diet can stand alone. It has to be complemented by exercise as the Jenny Craig is founded on a low Calorie diet.
Jenny Craig is a program where losing considerable weight and maintaining body figure can be easily achieved. Actually, the diet plan is very basic. Eating in moderation, having a balanced diet and doing regular work out are things we know we should be doing. The good thing about Jenny Craig is that it provides professional help by informing and guiding clients as to what foods they should be including in their diet based on their own body requirement, therefore, giving a remarkable outcome.

Jenny Craig Reviews - Find Out What ACTUALLY is the Best Weight Loss Program
Posted on 04. Apr, 2009 by admin.
Janet Sommers asked:
People have been raving about the positive results the Jenny Craig Weight Loss program. Jenny Craig reviews are all over. The company really is doing its best to promote the diet plan they think only a genius can come up with. A lot of customers have been expressing satisfaction over this program, claiming that the diet plan was carefully crafted indeed and it is one hundred percent effective. More and more people are being drawn to this and their patriots have been increasing a great deal. Even Hollywood celebrities Kirstie Valley, Valerie Bertinelli and guess who-Queen Latifah, has joined the club. The Jenny Craig Weight Loss program is really becoming so big that so many people look at it as the ultimate solution to their weight problems.
This really would appear true when people continue to not see through the pretenses of this company. If they would just look beyond the many Jenny Craig reviews scattered practically everywhere, they would be able to see that this is not the best weight loss program ever invented. For one, any person with average intellect can come up with their proposed diet plan. It just has to be low in fat and in carbohydrates and served in small servings so that continuing in this program would starve you and drain you of energy. Now, who doesn’t know that? Even someone who has no idea of how to eat healthy can simply pick something from the Internet and fabricate a menu that consists of food that shouts “eat me and lose weight”.
Yes, it would require a lot of money to be able to operate a factory that prepares all of those pre-packaged foods and be able to execute efficient marketing plans. But to think of it, money is really all they have and all they crave for.
If people could only search further for Jenny Craig reviews then they would find out that not all are pleased with the services this company is providing. Their diet plan consists of counseling sessions and individual classes before you could actually get to choose what you want to purchase from their oh-so-expensive food selection. This might sound fancy because consumers would have personalized services but that is going to happen only if they would have enough sense to hire employees who at least have experienced being overweight. They expect people who have been thin all their lives to talk to an individual with weight problems and actually relate to that person’s feelings. While this may be excusable their hiring of people who seem to actually need diet plans themselves is not. Don’t they feel the need to set a good example and make the Jenny Craig reviews roaming around sound convincing?
Aside from the bad service they provide, their diet plan does not really work anyway. It is just all a waste of time and money. It would never serve long-term purposes in the first place because it is based on the wrong principles. Their low-carb-low-calorie diet would actually cause people with weight problems more trouble because that would ultimately slow down their metabolism even more. The key to the most efficient weight loss is getting these fat burning engines in our body to work like crazy. The Fat Loss for Idiots provides this information in an ebook that would cost you no more than $20 and you will be the one to cook your own food. No more expensive pre-packaged foods that do not even taste great and no more Jenny Craig reviews that are only applicable to the rich.

The Jenny Craig Diet - Dieting With A Difference!
Posted on 31. Mar, 2009 by admin.
Abhishek Agarwal asked:
Jenny Craig has been in business for quite sometime now, and they are ready to do anything to fulfill your desires. They are not only being loyal to their customers, but also making sure that their customers do not get misguided. The first thing that made these people famous was the packaged food that they supplied. Off late, they have been offering recipes that are new and refreshing, on their websites, and they help people fulfill their desire to cook. Yeah! There are people left, who still want to cook new things, and experiment. And, this is exactly why people started putting on weight!
The Jenny Craig proves to be a very attractive option when it comes to dieting. There are many plans that are open, and they are available in different budgets. Most of the plans in Jenny Craig come under the same budget. This is perhaps one of the best advantages with Jenny Craig, and this is exactly why people throng this place, and there are other exciting offers too…
Jenny Craig also insists on burning the calories, and all the advantages of maintaining a body that is completely free of the extra calories and fat. It is very much important to make sure that your kind of dieting, and weight loss will support your lifestyle, and will not hamper your health in anyway! To achieve what you want, you must make sure that you exercise with a schedule to make sure that you keep yourself fit. This is a two way process, as you lose some calories, it is important that you gain some, otherwise, it is going to be very hard, and you might become weak after a period of time. And this is another good thing about Jenny Craig; they know the importance of gaining calories, as much as losing it!
Dieting is seen as a taboo in our society. There are many people who are consistently dieting, but still failing to achieve what they want to. Their main aim is to shed a couple of pounds, and they are finding it really hard to do it, in spite of all the die hard dieting, and exercise. This is where Jenny Craig scores! They manage to give their customers what they want. There are millions of people today who are thanking Jenny Craig for assisting them in what they wanted to do, and there is almost zero negative feedback from the customers. Jenny Craig is a success story that has managed to shape many people’s lives, and this will continue. They have many plans to choose from. Jenny Craig has them all, and ready to help!

The Jenny Craig Critic-Find Out Why This Diet Does Not Work!
Posted on 31. Mar, 2009 by admin.
Janet Sommers asked:
First off, why am I a credible Jenny Craig critic? Well, I feel I am already a much qualified Jenny Craig critic only because I tried the plan up until the gold membership stage. I am not saying that as a Jenny Craig critic, I will be giving expert advice nor am I saying what I say here will actually hold true to everyone. My role here as a Jenny Craig critic is that I will be delivering what happened to me in the best and in the most honest way that I can.
But first off, what is the Jenny Craig plan? According to their sire, the Jenny Craig plan is a weight maintenance program that will help you in three ways. One it will wean you off your usual unhealthy eating habits with the help of their prepackaged meals. Two it will encourage a healthier lifestyle tailor fit just for you by analyzing who you are and what level of activity do you have. Three, it will give you all the support you need through the counselors that you can either call over the phone or you can meet them weekly in your Jenny Craig local center.
These all look good when written but in actual experience, these things never delivered.
First, the food. This was a huge set back in terms of my budget as each week I shield out from $100-$150 just for my food alone. The Jenny Craig groceries had prices that were meant for people with the big bucks.
And the serving size? After eating one meal, instead of feeling full, you feel deprived and empty especially if you eat with your family. On the first week I ate with my family but when I noticed that I seem to feel sad and lonely after a few nights of seeing them eat heartily while I eat my “prison food” (that was what my husband called it), I started eating earlier than they did.
For items two and three of their “weight management or maintenance service,” Jenny Craig failed to deliver. My counselor knew practically zip about losing weight because she was a “living lollipop,” sort of like Calista Flockhart in Brothers and Sisters. She said I should eat this amount of calories and when I told her that the food she was selling me seemed too much, she turned a cold shoulder and said I had to eat everything or else I will fail. This was coming from a girl that seems to have never experienced moving two dress sizes up.
All in all, the entire program was a waste of my 5 months and hard earned dollars. I guess it took me a while to realize that because I wanted it to work. Sadly though, I failed. And as a Jenny Craig critic, I now have to say it was easy to mark Jenny Craig plan as a “DO NOT TRY.”
However, a month after this I discovered Fat Loss 4 Idiots and that greatly changed my life. Their tag line, lose “11 pounds in 9 days” is actually an understatement for me as I lost a great 12 pounds! And all it cost me was less than $70 for the entire program!
